POOR EXCUSE, JOHNNY!: With the toning-down of political rhetoric in the last few days, the Republican Speaker of the House, John Boehner, missed a golden opportunity last night to stand with leaders of both parties. Provided with a chance to show bipartisan unity by attending the Memorial Service for the Arizona Shooting Victims, Boehner opted to attend a reception for Maria Cino, his choice to be chairman of the Republican National Committee. In an age of high tech electronics which would have allowed him to appear via pre-recorded message or video phone, Boehner chose being a Republican over being a uniting force in America. Shame on you, Mr. Speaker.
